ON-SITE - Cultural Competence in Medical Interpreting

This training focuses on the use of cultural mediation in the medical interpreting genre. Participants will also be exposed to terminology and skills necessary for effective medical interpreting. This training will be conducted in sign language only. Through group activities and hands-on demonstrations, the participant will be able to: ▪ Recognize the importance of cultural competence in medical interpreting ▪ Analyze and determine effective interpretations with regard to cultural mediation ▪ Apply structured interpreting techniques to the interpretation with consideration given to the proper cultural approach.
